This is my own personal list these are my own opinions. My main genre I watch is romance and this list was very hard to come up with. Hope you enjoy this list and let us know yours!
5. Akagami no Shirayuki-hime (Snow White with the Red Hair) (2015)
Snow White with the Red Hair is one of those series I will never forget. Shirayuki a beautiful red headed girl who’s hair was so beautiful everyone was envious. Prince Raj the prince of her hometown Tanbarun recognized this beauty and tries to make her his wife. This is when she flees her home town and starts her adventure. This series is honestly amazing with drama, romance, and action a long the way. This is one of those series that will have you wanting more!
Shirayuki is a normal herbalist citizen in the kingdom of Tanbarun with one rare unique feature: her beautiful red hair. Due to her unusual hair color, Shirayuki was raised to always be careful of showing her hair in new surroundings and grew to be an independent young woman. However, her hair gets her noticed by Prince Raj, who orders her to become his concubine. Refusing his orders, she cuts her hair and leaves it behind as part of what he wanted and escapes to the neighboring kingdom of Clarines.
4. Golden Time (2014)
Golden Time is one of those series I feel will always be close to my heart. This is one of those series I will never forget about. It is so different from a lot of things I have seen in the past. Banri our main character experiences amnesia forgetting everything that happens in the past. He must move on from this once forgotten life and become a normal boy again. This series honestly will have you in chills by the end. This series is so heart warming but yet so heart aching at the same time!
Due to a tragic accident, Banri Tada is struck with amnesia, dissolving the memories of his hometown and past. However, after befriending Mitsuo Yanagisawa, he decides to move on and begin a new life at law school in Tokyo. But just as he is beginning to adjust to his college life, the beautiful Kouko Kaga dramatically barges into Banri’s life, and their chance meeting marks the beginning of an unforgettable year.
3. Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April) (2014)
Your Lie in April what do I say about this series? Music and a romance so strong it embeds into your memory and heart. Kousei a young pianist prodigy that after the death of his mother loses the ability to play music. Until me meets Kaori and they go on a musical journey together in search of Kousei’s musical love he once lost. Just wow this story is both heart warming and so sad at the same time but you can’t help but just LOVE it.
Music accompanies the path of the human metronome, the prodigious pianist Kousei Arima. But after the passing of his mother, Saki Arima, Kousei falls into a downward spiral, rendering him unable to hear the sound of his own piano.
Two years later, Kousei still avoids the piano, leaving behind his admirers and rivals, and lives a colorless life alongside his friends Tsubaki Sawabe and Ryouta Watari. However, everything changes when he meets a beautiful violinist, Kaori Miyazono, who stirs up his world and sets him on a journey to face music again.
2. Orange (2016)
Orange was a very unexpected series that I watched and fell in love with. From the very start this series was very different from any other romance series I have watched in the past. Time traveling letters from the past which tell the regret of a 26-year-old Naho. You watch as they try to rewrite the regret she has in the past. This series is just crazy!
Naho Takamiya’s first day of her sophomore year of high school is off to an uneasy start. After waking up late, she receives a strange letter addressed to her. However, the letter is from herself—10 years in the future! At first, Naho is skeptical of the note; yet, after witnessing several events described to take place, she realizes the letter really is from her 26-year-old self. The note details that Naho’s future life is filled with regrets, and she hopes that her younger self can correct the mistakes that were made in the past.
1. Clannad/Clannad After Story (2007)
Clannad is one of those romance anime you can’t help but love. With the great heart warming story of two young kids who meet very unexpectedly. Tomoya and Nagisa, Tomoya is a delinquent who finds everything pretty dull. Nagisa is a sweet girl who due to sickness got held back in school and lost her friends. This is one of those series you can re watch countless times and still love it the same through each watch.
Tomoya Okazaki is a delinquent who finds life dull and believes he’ll never amount to anything. Along with his friend Sunohara, he skips school and plans to waste his high school days away.
One day while walking to school, Tomoya passes a young girl muttering quietly to herself. Without warning she exclaims “Anpan!” (a popular Japanese food) which catches Tomoya’s attention. He soon discovers the girl’s name is Nagisa Furukawa and that she exclaims things she likes in order to motivate herself. Nagisa claims they are now friends, but Tomoya walks away passing the encounter off as nothing.
